The largest cave temple in the world, Batu Caves, is made of limestone. The formations are estimated to be 400 million years old. Discovered in 1860, the caves became even more famous in 1890 when the Indians built a temple dedicated to Lord Murugan inside the cave. Today, Batu Caves, one of the Hindu pilgrimage sites, can be reached with 272 steps. Be careful of the monkeys here, they will jump on you to take everything you have😊

Batu Caves can be reached by a half-hour bus or metro ride from Kuala Lumpur city center in Malaysia; the metro stop is right next to the temple and the cave. The night after we arrived in Malaysia, we set out for Batu Caves. It was a really enjoyable trip.
